Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic

Description:

This 16-hour (2 days) course is required for personnel with the responsibility or authority to decide on the specific MOT requirements to be implemented in the State of Florida.

The cost of the course is $275.

You need MOT training if:

  • You are a FDOT employee, contractor, consultant, surveyor, utility company personnel, local maintaining agency, or any other appropriate person.

And if you are responsible for:

  • Work zone traffic control planning, design, implementation, inspection, and/or for supervising the selection, placement, or maintenance of traffic control schemes and devices in work zones on the State Highway System.

Prerequisites:

One year of experience in work zone traffic control or responsible for work zone traffic control plan development is required. Please bring your driver's license and a valid email to take the exam.

Certificates and Wallet Cards:

A written test with a practical examination is required. You must score a 70% to successfully pass. Your certificate will be issued electronically by the FDOT’s MOT administrator.  Visit the MOT administrator’s web page at www.motadmin.com for more information.

Training or refresher courses for all MOT levels are required every (4) four years to continue to be qualified.
