This section reviews the various materials used to stabilize sub-grade or sub-base clay soils in highway construction. Discussed are the use of lime, cement, fly ash and bituminous materials.

Audience:
Senior construction inspectors, construction engineers, maintenance engineers, and road maintenance supervisors responsible for graded road maintenance are the primary target audience.



7C: Geotextiles and Geogrids

Duration: 45 min

Description:
This section shows the various uses of several geotextiles and geogrids. Examples include fabrics for crack relief under asphalt overlays, underdrain construction, liners, silt barriers, liners on low volume gravel roads and a geogrid over soft soil in levee construction.

Audience:
This course is designed for road maintenance engineers, road supervisors, construction engineers and senior construction inspectors.
