Who We Are

The Florida Transportation Technology Transfer (T2) Center is now part of the University of Florida Transportation Institute (UFTI) at the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida. As an umbrella organization for many national and state-based programs, T2 provides training, technical assistance, technology transfer services, and safety information to transportation, public works and safety professionals as well as the general public. Our Mission: To transform engineering research and technology into common practice and to foster a safe, efficient, environmentally sound transportation system by improving skills, and knowledge. Our current programs include:

  • Pedestrian & Bicycling Safety Resource Center (SRC)

Funded by the FDOT Safety Office to provide materials at no charge that reinforce safe walking and bicycling practices to qualifying organizations and individuals for use during ped/bike events and educational activities.

  • Florida Occupant Protection Resource Center (OPRC)

Funded by the FDOT Safety Office, this one-stop resource center for occupant protection will provide child safety seats to Florida Child Passenger Safety Instructors along with information and materials on child passenger safety, safety belts, air bags, and even distracted driving to qualifying organizations and individuals.

  • Technology Transfer Support

Development and dissemination of FDOT technology transfer media in the form of editorial reviews of final reports, summaries of final reports and the production and distribution of Research Showcase magazine to meet the goal of increasing dispersion of research results, increasing potential for the application of research results, and improving accountability.
